PUPPY PLACEMENT AGREEMENT

Puppy Placement Conditions – Son of Atkin’s Cane Corso

We are a small, family-based program dedicated to the well-being and preservation of the Cane Corso. Our puppies are raised in our home as part of our commitment to responsible breeding and breed integrity. The following conditions are intended to ensure each puppy is placed into a loving, suitable home with long-term support and accountability.

🐾 Registration

Puppies from our program are eligible for registration with either the American Kennel Club (AKC) or the International Cane Corso Federation (ICCF), depending on lineage. Registration documentation will be provided once processing is complete. The kennel name “Son of Atkin’s” must remain the prefix on all registrations and may not be altered without express permission, in recognition of the lineage and care behind the breeding.

🐾 Health & Wellness

Each puppy is cared for extensively and will have received age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming prior to placement. A licensed veterinarian health certificate will be included. We encourage companion homes to have the puppy examined by their own veterinarian within 5 business days of bringing them home.

If a qualifying health concern is identified within 14 days and confirmed in writing by a licensed veterinarian, we may offer a future puppy from a comparable pairing as part of our commitment to well-being. Transportation or associated veterinary costs remain the responsibility of the receiving family.

🐾 Genetic Stewardship

We offer a 24-month health commitment against life-threatening congenital conditions and severe hip dysplasia that would prevent the puppy from living a quality life. A certified veterinary diagnosis must be submitted, and, if confirmed, we will offer a future puppy from a similar lineage. We do not guarantee specific size, coat color, or markings.

🐾 Responsibility & Liability

As this is a small family-based program, we are unable to cover any veterinary care or costs once the puppy leaves our care. We provide guidance and support for the life of the dog, but cannot assume liability for conditions not covered in our stated commitments.

🐾 Health Disclosure

Our placement commitment does not cover common but manageable conditions such as coccidiosis, internal/external parasites, cherry eye, mild infections, reproductive outcomes, or training-related issues. We do not guarantee show or breeding outcomes, as these depend on many environmental, genetic, and developmental factors beyond our control.

🐾 Home Commitment Agreement

By accepting the placement of a puppy from our program, you agree to the following:

  • Provide a safe, nurturing, and healthy home environment
  • Maintain a proper diet, routine veterinary care, and exercise
  • Complete basic obedience training by 12 months of age
  • Refrain from using the dog for any combat or fighting-related activity
  • Contact us first if you are ever unable to keep the dog — we retain first right of return or refusal

Breeding should never occur before the dog reaches 19 months of age, and only under the guidance of a veterinarian and appropriate screening. If the dog is bred irresponsibly or rehomed without our consent, we reserve the right to reclaim the dog under our stewardship terms.

We are grateful to connect with individuals who value the Cane Corso breed and want to walk alongside us in raising these exceptional dogs with care, integrity, and purpose.
